The Cubs activated Leiter (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Leiter (forearm) threw a live batting practice Saturday, and manager Craig Counsell said that the right-hander will be activated from the 15-day IL during the Cubs' next road trip against the Orioles, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.
Has the ability to pitch as both a starter and reliever in the minor leagues, which adds to his overall value in MLB. Also owns great bloodlines (his father Mark and uncle Al were both big-league pitchers). While he can strike batters out, his walks are an issue. Therefore, he must gain greater control of his pitching repertoire in order to maximize output at the highest level. Lacks ideal size for a pitcher.
Long Range Potential: Versatile right-hander.
